- > qsub shell_script
where "shell_script" is a script in the local directory which runs an executable.
Such a script can look like this for a binary compiled and linked under rh9:#$ -S /bin/csh #$ -l arch=lx24-x86 cd /home/critten/bin program.exe
The job will be assigned a number (e.g. 87835).
The output will be directed to a file called shell_script.o87835 in your home directory.
The error output will be directed to file called shell_script.e87835- > qstat
which shows the status of the queues, including the job just submitted
- > qstat -f -j 87835
which gives full information on job 87835
- > qacct -j 87835
which gives information on job 87835 after it has finished
- > qdel 87835
which aborts job 87835
- > qstat
- Changing the output directory
The output directory can be changed with the qsub o-option: qsub -o /home/critten/log shell_script
- Changing the output file name
The output file name can be changed with the qsub N-option: qsub -N logname shell_script
which will create the file logname.o87835
- Combining the error and output streams
The two streams can be combined into the logname.o87835 file with the j-option: qsub -j y shell_script
- Sending e-mail with abort information
An e-mail will be sent if the job is aborted: qsub -m a -M jac243@cornell.edu shell_script
