Arrival Information

From the Airport to the Hotels

If you arrive to Budapest Ferihegy Airport, you can either take a taxi or a shuttle bus to the hotel. You can find general information on ground transport here.

The official airport taxi (called Zona Taxi) has a fixed price of 4200 HUF (or 19 Euros) to take you anywhere on the Buda side (where Hotel Gellert is). The price to the Pest side (where Duna Mercure is) is HUF 4100 (also 19 Euros). You may give a 10 percent tip on this. These taxis are supposed to be black with yellow stripes, and Zona is written on the side. You can find the website for this taxi company here. Do not accept taxi solicitations for arriving passengers, just walk to the taxi stands where the official taxis are parked (this is not very much a problem anymore, but it used to be in the past).

The door-to-door shuttle is called Airport Minibus, and the roundtrip price is HUF 3900 (about 15 Euros).

From the Train Station to the Hotels

If you arrive by train, make sure you DO NOT take a taxi at the train station. Rather either take the subway, or walk a few blocks and then hail a cab. The taxis at the train station are notorious for overcharging foreign passengers (especially those who are soliciting arriving passengers).

Public transportation between the Train Station "Keleti palyaudvar" and Gellert

You can take bus number 7 that will take you directly from the train station to Gellert square (do not take the bus if it has a red number 7, this is an express that does not stop at Gellert square).

Public transport between Keleti train station and Duna Mercure

You can take the subway number 2 (M2 red line) from Keleti to Blaha Lujza Ter (1 stop). At Blaha Lujza Ter you should change to tram number 4 or 6, and go till Baross ter at the foot of the Petofi bridge, where the Duna Hotel is located.

From the hotels to the conference site

The workshop will be held in the Eotvos Auditorium on the ground floor at Eotvos University (room number 0.83). Below is a map on how to walk from the Gellert hotel to the University:

Alternatively you may take tram number 18 to Moricz Zsigmond square (2 stops), and then take tram number 6 (also 2 stops). Also, Csaba will be staying at Gellert and will walk to the conference site at 8:15 AM sharp on June 25 (we may gather at 8AM in the lobby of Gellert).

From the Duna Mercure just walk across the Petofi bridge, or take one stop of tram number 4 or 6 across the bridge.

Emergency contact: if you have an emergency, you can call Csaba's cell phone at 36-30-963-2930 from abroad or 06-30-963-2930 from within Hungary.
