Getting around in Budapest

The easiest is to use public transportation. You can find the website here. If you will use public transport extensively the simplest solution is to buy a weekly ticket for HUF 3600 (about $20). Otherwise you have to get a separate ticket for every leg of your trip, including transfers between subway lines. The weekly passes are available at bigger squares, for examples at Moricz Zsigmond Korter.

Recommended sights in Budapest

• The Parliament building, which also houses the Hungarian Crown
• The Castle District in Buda, including the Hungarian National Gallery and other museums
• Heroes' square, where you can also find the Museum of Fine Arts
• View from the top of the Gellert Hill
• St. Stephen's Basilica

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will be on board the ship "Gyor" of the MAHART shipping company in the evening of Wednesday, June 27. The departure time is 7pm sharp. We will be allowed to board the ship starting at 6:30pm. The ship departs from the Vigado Square Shipping Terminal from dock 5 or 6. Be sure to be there before 7pm. We have a very limited number of possible extra tickets for accompanying persons, which cost $50 each. If you have not yet told us about request for a vegetarian meal or extra dinner attendees please do so immediately.
