My field of research is accelerator and beam physics, a discipline rich in complex non-linear dynamics phenomena, theoretical and computational challenges. We design, build, and use the state-of-the-art experimental equipment for exploration of beam physics questions and provide tools for inquiry into the fundamental aspects of nature. Relativistic electron (and sometimes positron) accelerators are also known as brightest human-made light sources in the widest range of photon energies.
Some of the topics in my research include bright (ulracold) beam production, various applications that take advantage of compact bright electron sources, physics of photocathodes, and beam dynamics.

On a personal note, I enjoy visiting new places, dabbling with woodworking, and reading thought-provoking literature: Fyodor Dostoevsky, René Girard, Isaac the Syrian, and Alexander Men, to name a few. Regarding the last author, you can check out my translation of his History of Religion.
