EVLA Telescopes: An Addon for Celestia

This Addon includes models representing the radio telescopes of the Expanded Very Large Array on the Plains of St. Augustine in New Mexico. Once called the VLA, its official name changed when the telescopes and their electronics were upgraded starting in 2006. Completion is expected in 2012.

For more information about the telescope array, see http://science.nrao.edu/evla/

For more information about this Addon, please read the file EVLA_readme.txt

These URLs will take you to viewpoints near the telescopes. The Plains and thus the telescopes are at an altitude of more than 2km. Celestia draws the Earth with a radius corresponding to sea-level. As a result, the telescopes and the maps are drawn far above the surface of the Earth. This is intentional.
